Bit of a newby to Crossgates, only been here a couple of years but feel I've not arrived.  Love the park, the shopping centre, the railway station - everything except, as mentioned before the pubs.  Come on you business men you must see an opportunity where good food, good drink and good customers are calling out to you, you'd be turning us away from the doors and for the right reasons.  No horrible chain pub food, trouble causers need apply

I was born in Cross Gates in 1953 and have seen quite a few changes. I like the 'small town within a city' feeling. Just about everything you need to get by can be found there. What Cross Gates needs now is to move a little bit forward. After you get home from work there is little, apart from a few none too brilliant pubs, to keep you in the area. We could do with a few more decent restaurants, some bars and a cinema. The rest of the country appears to realise that cinemas are back in vogue, why can't Cross Gates? The small town in which I now live has a bowling alley, multi screen cinema, swimming pool and fitness centre and enough restaurants to keep anyone happy. The population of Cross Gates and surrounding areas is large enough to support these developments, I guess we will just have to hope someone with clout comes up with the cash!

Cross Gates is a very vibrant place to live there are lots of good shops and nice restaurants, could do with better pubs or wine bars.

Why oh why do we keep having the festival-goers driving through Cross Gates? Surely this little haven should be protected against noise and car pollution.
